OGDEN, Utah, Jan. 19, 2017 (Gephardt Daily) — A two-vehicle collision has left one passenger dead in a Thursday morning accident on Ogden’s Harrison Boulevard.
Lt. Nate Cline, Ogden Police Department, said at 2 p.m. that investigators are still on the scene, at 1800 S. Harrison Blvd. The road was re-opened by 3 p.m.
A news release posted on Facebook at 1:45 p.m. said officers responded to the two-vehicle accident at approximately 11 a.m.
The initial investigation revealed that a silver Ford Focus had been traveling southbound and a white Chevrolet Tahoe had been traveling northbound, both on Harrison Blvd., and the vehicles were approaching each other.
The Ford Focus drifted from its lane of travel, crossed into the oncoming traffic lane and collided with the Chevrolet Tahoe.
A female passenger riding in the Ford Focus was deceased on scene. The driver of the Ford Focus received non-life threatening injuries and is being treated at a local area hospital.
The driver and occupant of the Chevrolet Tahoe reported they were not injured.
The exact cause of the accident is still under investigation by the Ogden Police Department’s Traffic Division.
The name of the deceased woman is not being released at this time, pending notification of family members.
