SANPETE COUNTY, Utah, June 5, 2025 (Gephardt Daily) -- Utah Highway Patrol investigators believe a medical emergency led to a fatal crash Thursday afternoon in Sanpete County.
According to a UHP news release, the head-on collision on Highway 89 happened around 1 p.m., when the driver of a southbound 2005 Chevy Tahoe crossed the centerline near milepost 293 and hit a northbound semi-truck head-on.
The driver of the Tahoe, identified only as a 68-year old male, suffered fatal injuries on scene, the UHP said.
The driver of the semi, a 62-year-old male, escaped with minor injuries.
No other information was immediately forthcoming.
