PLEASANT GROVE, Utah, May 9, 2024 (Gephardt Daily) — One person was killed and another was injured in a two-vehicle crash that closed southbound Interstate 15 on Thursday morning.
The driver of a white Chevy Cobalt in the right lane lost control of his vehicle and ended up sideways one lane to the left, Utah Highway Patrol Sgt. Cameron Roden said.
A white pickup with a trailer carrying a forklift hit the Chevy on the driver’s side about 9:30 a.m. The driver of the Chevy was transported to an area hospital, where he later died, Roden said.
The driver of the truck was taken to a hospital with moderate injuries, he said.
Southbound I-15 was closed at 500 East in American Fork while officials investigated and cleaned up the crash.
