BEAVER DAM/LITTLEFIELD, Ariz., March 31, 2019 (Gephardt Daily) — One of two motorcyclists involved in a collision Sunday afternoon near the Arizona-Utah border died at the scene.
The accident happened a little before 2 p.m.
The Beaver Dam/Littlefield Fire Department said in a Facebook post that emergency crews responded to a call on Interstate 15 at mile marker 13, where one of the riders sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead after life-saving measures were unsuccessful.
A second motorcyclist was transported in critical but stable condition to a local trauma center.
According to the post, an off-duty firefighter/paramedic from San Bernardino County Fire Department and an off-duty paramedic from Seattle witnessed the accident and administered initial aid to the injured motorcyclists.
The Arizona Department of Public Safety is investigating the cause of the accident, and the Mohave County Sheriff’s Office assisted with traffic control.
The names of the motorcyclists have not been released pending notification of family members.
I was there yesterday when it happened. Tragic and horrific event. Problem with that long and winding road is that theres too many blind spots. Added to that is motorists dont know how to navigate that area.. look, im a truck driver, and most of the time people are on their phones texting while passing a big rig all the while swerving to next lanes while doing that. Thats why i have 4 sets of surveillance cameras which are issued by the company simply because of that. Its sad and tragic what happened yesterday. All I can say is, phonecalls and text can wait. Concentrate driving and dont be stupid. Its not worth it.
My daughter is a police officer with unified police depth SLC UTAH Holaday precinct and did most of the CPR because the motorcycle accident our red right in front of her,.Sadly I see that the person less interest in “credit” is completely omitted. This group of motorcycles flew past me going over 100 miles an hour… all while driving between cars swerving in and out of traffic. I always watch for motorcycles and pulled to the edge of my lane so they could pass. I had this horrible feeling someone was going to get hurt or die yesterday… when I passed the accident I was saddened to see the aftermath. So sad to lose someone because of the choices someone makes. God bless the victim and the families affected….
