OGDEN, Utah, June 17, 2024 (Gephardt Daily) — One person was seriously injured in a mountain biking crash Monday evening in Weber County.

Emergency responders from the Weber Fire District, Ogden City Fire Department and Weber County Sheriff’s Office responded about 5:30 p.m. to the Wheeler Creek trailhead, where a mountain biker had suffered a serious crash, officials said.

The mountain biker sustained head and facial injuries in the crash and was losing consciousness, the Weber Fire District stated on social media.

Crews used a UTV and then hiked to reach the patient, tended to their injuries and then transported them back to the UTV, the post says.

The patient was taken by medical helicopter to an area hospital in serious condition.

“We extend our gratitude to all responders and members of the public who assisted in this challenging rescue effort,” the post says.
