10-year-old Mount Pleasant boy flown to hospital with gunshot wound to head

MOUNT PLEASANT, Utah, Aug. 16, 2017 (Gephardt Daily) — A 10-year-old Mount Pleasant boy was flown to Primary Children’s Hospital with a gunshot wound to the head Wednesday afternoon, officials said.

Police responded to a report of an injured child in a residence at approximately 3:05 p.m., Mount Pleasant Police Department said in a news release.

The press release said an officer arrived “and found an eleven-year-old, and ten-year-old victim in the house. It appeared the ten-year-old had a gunshot wound to the left side of his head.”

The boy was transported by ground ambulance to the Sanpete Valley Hospital and was subsequently flown to Primary Children’s in Salt Lake City.

Police have not yet released additional information about the sequence of events leading up to the incident, or the condition or identity of the victim.
