ROY, Utah, Sept. 7, 2018 (Gephardt Daily) — A 12-year-old boy has been struck by a school bus in Roy, and was flown to Primary Children’s Hospital by LifeFlight helicopter.

The child was hit at about 2:49 p.m. Friday while crossing the intersection at 5175 South and 2500 West, Roy City Police Officer Stuart Hackworth told Gephardt Daily. He said the boy was transported to the hospital in critical condition.

The child was within the crosswalk with his bicycle when he was struck by the front of the bus, the officer said.

No students on the bus were injured, according to a statement from the Weber School District.

Gephardt Daily will have more information as it becomes available.

  1. I think your article is incorrect saying the boy was within the cross walk. When I look at the aerial photos, the bus is passing parallel to the painted crosswalk. Which indicates the boy on the bike crossed over the crosswalk. Also visible on Google maps satellite view.
