13-Year-Old Girl Shot In Hand After 20 Rounds Of Bullets Sprayed At Kearns Home

Kearns, Utah, June 18, 2016 (Gephardt Daily) — A 13-year-old girl is recovering after being shot in the hand during a drive-by shooting at her home.

Unified Police Lt. Lex Bell said 911 dispatchers received calls at 3:16 a.m. Saturday on reports of gunshots at a residence at 5492 W. Highwood Drive (5470 South).

 Bell said when officers arrived, they discovered the house had been shot multiple times with two different caliber of shells.

“It appears there were two individuals, one in the front of the house and one in the back, who both fired multiple rounds at the same time into the home,” Bell said.

“We believe they fired close to 20 rounds.”

The girl who was shot in the hand is is expected to recover.

Bell said he did not have a description of the suspects, and did not know who their intended target was. The investigation is ongoing.
