1,400 without power as high winds hit American Fork

AMERICAN FORK, Utah, June 22, 2025 (Gephardt Daily) — Rocky Mountain Power reports approximately 1400 customers are without power in the American Fork area early Sunday as strong winds continue to affect northern Utah, prompting a High Wind Advisory that remains in effect until Monday morning.

According to an American Fork Fire & Rescue news release, "residents are urged to secure outdoor furniture, decorations and other loose items that could become projectiles in high gusts. Officials are also warning the public to stay clear of downed power lines and to report them immediately.

"Drivers are advised to use caution, as debris or fallen trees may obstruct roads. Residents are also asked to conserve phone battery power in case of extended outages or emergency needs," the news release says.

Power crews are working to restore electricity as safely and efficiently as possible, officials said. Updates will be shared as the situation develops.

For emergencies, call 911.
