SANDY, Utah, Aug. 30, 2017 (Gephardt Daily) — A 16-year-old boy is in stable condition after being shot outside a Sandy condominium complex.
Sandy Police Sgt. Jason Nielsen told Gephardt Daily that at about 11 a.m. Wednesday, officials received a 911 call reporting a shooting at Jefferson Place Condominiums, 683 W. Jefferson Cove (9260 South).
Officers arrived on scene and found the teenager, who had suffered injuries to his right hand and leg. It was not known who shot him.
The juvenile was transported to a local hospital with non life-threatening injuries. Nielsen said because the teenager was still being treated, he had not yet been questioned about the details of what transpired.
Nielsen said police are not concerned there is a threat to a public.
It’s not known whether the boy lives in the condos. The 911 call was made by someone else who was in the area when the incident occurred. Police were not immediately able to the boy’s parents.
