WEST JORDAN, UTAH – July 6, 2015 (Gephardt Daily) –

A teenage driver is in critical condition after being broadsided at the intersection of the Mountain View Corridor and the Old Bingham Highway Sunday night.

According to South Jordan Police Lt. Richard Bell, the 16-year-old drove her Honda Accord through a red light and into the path of a southbound pick-up truck around 10:17 p.m.

When first responders arrived they found the teen pinned inside her car.

It took first responders more than 30 minutes to extricate her.

She was then flown by medical helicopter to an area hospital, as of Monday morning officers said it appears she is going to be ok.

No other injuries were reported in the crash.
