2 in custody after bank robbery, police chase in Ogden

OGDEN, Utah, July 26, 2018 (Gephardt Daily) — Two people were taken into custody Thursday afternoon after the robbery of Key Bank on Ogden’s Harrison Boulevard.

Ogden Police officials responded to the scene, at 3565 Harrison Blvd., at 1:29 p.m.

“Bank employees reported an adult male suspect entered the bank and demanded money,” the OPD report says. “He received an undisclosed amount and fled the area in a vehicle. No weapon was displayed.

“Ogden Police officers located the vehicle in the area of 22nd and Washington Boulevard. Officers attempted to stop the suspect but the suspect failed to yield. A pursuit began, lasting around 12 minutes concluding in the area of 600 N. Porter Ave., Ogden. Ogden Police Officers utilized pursuit intervention techniques to end the pursuit.”

An adult male driver and an adult female passenger were taken into custody. Their names were not immediately released. The investigation is ongoing, the police statement says.
