2 killed, 3 injured in Daggett County rollover

DAGGETT COUNTY, Utah, August 7, 2017 (Gephardt Daily) — Two people have been killed and three others injured in a rollover crash in Daggett County.

According to a statement by the Daggett County Sheriff’s Office, the accident happened around 5 p.m. Monday when a Chrysler minivan driven by Mark Matthews, 48, swerved while heading northbound on Route 44 and rolled three times.

Matthews, along with a passenger, identified as Sage Edson, was thrown from the vehicle.

Both were pronounced dead at the scene.

Three others, including two females and an 11-year-old boy were hospitalized. Their conditions ranged from serious to minor.

Investigators have yet to determine the cause of the crash.
