UTAH COUNTY, Utah, July 27, 2019 (Gephardt Daily) — Two men are dead after a crash on U.S. Highway 6 in Utah County Friday evening.

A tan Chevy Silverado was traveling eastbound on U.S. 6 at mile post 206.3 in the number one eastbound lane just before 8:30 p.m., according to a news release from the Utah Highway Patrol.

“Witnesses reported that for an unknown reason, the truck spun out in the eastbound lanes and went off the roadway to the right,” the news release said. “The vehicle then rolled down the embankment about 150 feet off the road. Road conditions at the time were wet but it is unknown if it was still raining.”

There were two men in the vehicle and both were ejected as it rolled. It is not known at this time which man was the driver, officials said.

“One of the males was identified as an Arizona resident and he sustained fatal injuries, dying at the scene,” the news release went on. “The other male had no identification and State Bureau of Investigation is assisting in making a proper ID.”

The severely injured man was airlifted to the hospital but died en route.

Notification to the families of the deceased has not been made; Arizona law enforcement was contacted by the Utah Highway Patrol but was unsuccessful. The identities of the two men will not be released until their families have been notified.

There is no evidence of impairment at this time, officials said.

Lane restrictions were in place during the investigation but the scene is now clear.
