2 seriously injured when car hits motorcycle in Cottonwood Heights

COTTONWOOD HEIGHTS, Utah, Nov. 11, 2017 (Gephardt Daily) — Two people were transported to the hospital Saturday night after a driver with a medical condition crashed into another car and a motorcycle at 2000 E. Fort Union Blvd (7000 South).

Cottonwood Heights Police and Unified Fire Authority responded to the scene at about 5:56 p.m.

CHPD Sgt. T. Daugherty told Gephardt Daily the driver of the first car, a man who appeared to be in his 30s, was heading east on Fort Union. He  experienced a medical episode and went through the red light, Daugherty said.

He then struck a second car and a motorcycle. The motorcycle rider, a man in his 40s, and the driver of the car that hit him were both transported to the hospital in serious condition.

There were no injuries in the car that was struck.

Daugherty said police do not suspect that any alcohol or drugs were involved.
