24-year-old man dies in possible drowning at Quail Creek State Park

HARRISBURG, Utah, May 15, 2019 (Gephardt Daily) — An investigation is underway after a 24-year-old man died at Quail Creek State Park near Harrisburg on Tuesday.

Utah Department of Natural Resources public information officer Nathan Schwebach told Gephardt Daily the man was fishing at the park and was found deceased by law enforcement after he failed to check in with loved ones.

“The incident remains under investigation as a possible drowning or medical event,” Schwebach said. “No additional details are available pending family notification.”

Quail Creek State Park is located nine miles west of Hurricane and 1.5 miles south of Harrisburg.
