23-year-old Utah man killed in Moab area skydiving accident

GRAND COUNTY, Utah, July 14, 2019 (Gephardt Daily) — A skydiver was killed in Southern Utah on Sunday afternoon.

The victim is identified as 23-year-old Moab resident, Spencer W. Connolley.

The Grand County Sheriff’s Office said Connolley was fatally injured at about 2 p.m., after he “experienced a fast and hard landing” in a targeted landing area at the Canyonlands Airport in Moab.

Grand County Emergency Services responded to the scene but were unable revive the gravely injured skydiver.

The cause of the incident is under investigation by the Grand County Sheriff’s Office.
