3 dead in head-on crash on SR-191 in San Juan County

SAN JUAN COUNTY, Utah, Aug. 4, 2019 (Gephardt Daily) — Three people are dead after a head-on crash on SR-191 in San Juan County Saturday afternoon.

The accident occurred at approximately at 4:15 p.m. Saturday when a Ford F-150 pickup collided Ford Expedition at mile marker 93, 23 miles north of Monticello.

According to a statement by the Utah Highway Patrol, the northbound Expedition was towing an 18-foot boat when the southbound F-150 veered into the northbound lane hitting the Expedition head-on.

The driver of the Expedition, Kenneth Harding, 75, and the passenger, Frances Harding, 73, both from Goodman, Arizona, died at the scene.

The front passenger of the F-150, Patricia Storm, 68, from Minot, North Dakota, was also pronounced dead at the accident site.

The driver of the F-150 was flown to St. Mary’s hospital in Grand Junction, Colorado, in critical condition. All four occupants of the two vehicles were wearing their seat belts.

The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
