SYRACUSE, Utah, May 9, 2024 — (Gephardt Daily) — Police have made three arrests from a January shooting that left a male juvenile with a gunshot wound to the leg.
The gunplay came Jan. 20 in the area of 1175 South 1950 West, where a party was being held.
Upon arrival, officers observed a juvenile male with a gunshot wound to his leg. A medical team responded and transported him to the hospital in stable condition.
An initial investigation pointed to an altercation among several juvenile males, Syracuse police said at the time. “Multiple shots were fired, and individuals fled the area following the shooting.”
Thursday night the department announced that three juveniles had been arrested and charged from the incident, pointing to three assailants firing shots.
One 16-year-old also was charged with multiple drug counts, and a 17-year-old saddled with a vehicle theft charge, in addition to the multiple assault and firearms violations.
“We are pleased to report significant progress in the case concerning the shooting incident that occurred during a house party on January 20, 2024. Thanks to the diligent efforts of our Syracuse Police Department and partner agencies, all suspects involved have been identified, and appropriate charges have been filed.”
