WASHINGTON CITY, Utah, Dec. 15, 2019 (Gephardt Daily) — Four people were injured, one of them critically, after a vehicle hit a pedestrian in the parking lot of an In-N-Out Burger in Washington City then crashed into the building.

Washington City police officials said the incident occurred at the burger restaurant at 832 W. Telegraph St. at approximately 2:45 p.m. Saturday.

The driver hit a pedestrian, and tried to stop, but reportedly hit the accelerator instead of the brake pedal, officials said, then plowed into the side of the In-N-Out.

Two people inside the restaurant and the elderly couple inside the vehicle were transported by ground ambulance to area hospitals. One person inside the restaurant was taken to the hospital in extremely critical condition.

The person who was hit transported themselves to the hospital for evaluation.

At this early stage it does not appear that impairment was a factor in the crash.
