TOOELE, Utah, Feb. 13, 2018 (Gephardt Daily) — Four people were transported to the hospital Tuesday night after a two-vehicle crash at State Route 112 and Industrial Loop Road.
Tooele Police Sgt. Don Nelson told Gephardt Daily that a “smaller Chevy,” collided with a Chevy Suburban when one of the vehicles ran a red light.
As of 9 p.m., officials were still in the process of interviewing about 10 witnesses and determining which driver was at fault.
Nelson said impairment did not appear to be a factor in the crash.
It was thought at first that someone had been ejected in the collision, he said, but when officers arrived, they learned that one of the injured people had lain down after getting out of their vehicle.
The three people in the smaller passenger car and the driver of the Suburban, all adults, were transported to the hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening.
Fire department crews were on scene to extricate passengers from the car, but that was done as primarily as a precaution.
