7-year-old flown to Primary Children’s Hospital after ATV accident, head injury

UTAH COUNTY, Utah, Aug. 29, 2017 (Gephardt Daily) — A 7-year-old boy injured Tuesday evening in an ATV accident in a remote part of Utah County was transported by helicopter to Primary Children’s Hospital.

The accident happened at about 7:30 p.m. Tuesday in the Mount Loafer area, Sgt. Spencer Cannon, Utah County Sheriff’s Office, told Gephardt Daily.

Four family members were riding on a side-by-side, Cannon said, when the vehicle crashed. Two riders suffered minor injuries, but only the boy was transported by air.

Cannon said the boy was later reported to be in stable condition, and his injuries were not life-threatening, doctors said.

Cannon said at 11 p.m. that a search and rescue operation was underway to bring the mother and at least two others down from the area where the accident occurred.
