ENTERPRISE, Utah, April 9, 2016 (Gephardt Daily) — A 78-year-old Enterprise man was killed Saturday morning when his vehicle went through a fence and overturned, officials said.

Utah Highway Patrol said in a news release that the driver and sole occupant of the car was traveling westbound on SR-18 at approximately 7:45 a.m.

The vehicle was about 600 feet in front of the T-shaped intersection where SR-18 turns southbound from Main Street.

The news release said: “The vehicle left the roadway to the left and traveled through a white vinyl fence. The driver of the vehicle steered to the left and the wheels dug into the soft soil.

“The vehicle overturned and came to rest on the driver side. Medical personnel attempted to revive the driver at the scene, but CPR was unsuccessful.”

There were no other vehicles involved in the crash.

It is not known yet whether speed or any other factor contributed to the accident, or whether the driver was wearing a seatbelt.

The name of the driver has not yet been released pending notification of family members.
