SANDY, Utah, Dec. 18, 2015 (Gephardt Daily) — There were scary moments for a couple who on early Friday morning delivered a baby with the cord around her neck as the father drove along I-15.
In the 911 recording of the call, the father can be heard telling the operator that his wife had just delivered a baby girl as he pulled off a northbound lane of the interstate, and onto the shoulder.
The baby had the umbilical cord wrapped around her neck and had stopped breathing for a short time, but midway through the call she started crying.
Utah Highway Patrol Sgt. Todd Royce said the baby was delivered before any medical personnel could arrive.
“She just came really quickly,” Royce said. “It’s really cool to hear her start to cry.”
