MAGNA,UTAH – August 28, 2015 (Gephardt Daily) – An elderly Magna man was killed Friday night after being hit by a mini-van near 3500 South and 8310 West.
According to Unified Police Detective Jared Richardson, 93-year-old Gordon Dean was walking to a local restaurant around 7:20 p.m. when he stepped off the curb and into the path of westbound traffic.
Investigators say Dean was not in a crosswalk at the time he was hit.
He was pronounced dead at the scene.
No one else was injured.
Police believe the driver of the mini-van may have been blinded by glare from the sun.
Their investigation is continuing.
