Motorcyclist injured in downtown Salt Lake City crash

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah, May 14, 2018 (Gephardt Daily) — A motorcyclist was transported to the hospital early Monday after police say he ran a red light and was struck by a car in downtown Salt Lake City.

Lt. Gary Trost, Salt Lake City Police Department, said the crash happened at about 12:30 a.m., when the adult male on the motorcycle drove through a red light at 900 S. West Temple and was hit by a southbound Ford Mustang.

The man was thrown from the bike and received a compound fracture to his leg. His injuries were not life-threatening.

Trost said no one in the Mustang was injured.

The crash is still under investigation, Trost said, and no other details were immediately available.
