SALINA, UTAH – October 28, 2015 (Gephardt Daily) – The victim of a fatal accident in Salina Wednesday afternoon has been identified.

The deceased driver has been identified as Jay Larsen, 77, from Ferron, Utah.

According to Utah Highway Patrol spokesman Sgt. Todd Royce, the accident happened at 9:35 a.m. on I-70 near mile marker 66 in Salina.

Police said a Ford Ranger pulling a boat was traveling west on I-70. The left rear tire failed on the truck. It appears that the driver attempted to slow for the tire failure but the boat pushed the truck sideways and off the road to the right. The truck began to roll. The driver, who was unrestrained, was ejected and killed. The passenger was wearing her seat belt and remained in the truck but was flown from the scene.
