PARK CITY, UTAH – August 3, 2015 (Gephardt Daily) — Crews worked nearly four hours to repair a power outage that left almost 10,000 customers in the dark Monday morning.

In Park City, Midway and Summit County, approximately 9,837 lost power around 2:24 a.m. The zip codes affected are 84049, 84060 and 84098.

In Big Cottonwood Canyon there were 1,432 customers without power from 6:30 a.m. for about an hour-and-a-half in the 84121 zip code.

According to Rocky Mountain Power spokesperson Paul Murphy, transmission lines in Park City were being updated to help improve power to the areas when another transmission line became overloaded and failed.

Transmission line issues were also the cause for the Big Cottonwood area’s outage as well.

As of 9:15 a.m. all areas should be restored. If anyone is still without power they ask that you call 1-877-508-5088 to report your outage.
