2 young sisters found safe after Amber Alert issued

GRANTSVILLE, Utah, Sept. 21, 2016 (Gephardt Daily) — Two young sisters from Grantsville were found safe about 45 minutes after an Amber Alert was issued for them on Wednesday afternoon.

The alert went out at 4:25 p.m. and the girls were reported found at about 5:10 p.m.

The girls, 7-year-old Barbara Shrewsbury and 11-year-old Rebecca Shrewsbury, were reported taken by Kenneth Shrewsbury, 53, immediately after he was served with paperwork regarding custody of the girls. The statement did not specify whether Shrewsbury was the girls’ father.

The girls were reportedly abducted at about 2:15 p.m. from 313 S. Cooley St., Grantsville.
