WEST JORDAN, Utah, Feb. 17, 2018 (Gephardt Daily) — Police are investigating the Saturday night robbery of a Metro PCS store at 8961 S. 1300 West.
West Jordan Police Sgt. J.C. Holt told Gephardt Daily that a male suspect entered the store a little before 7:30 p.m.
Brandishing a handgun, the suspect demanded cash from the clerk, and the clerk complied. The suspect then fled.
When police responded, they brought a K-9, and the dog tracked the suspect’s scent around to the back of the store. At that point, they lost the track.
Holt said the fact that the track ended indicates the suspect probably had a vehicle waiting behind the building.
The robber was wearing a gray hoodie and had his face partially covered, but he possibly may be Hispanic, Holt said. He was carrying a black handgun.
Anyone who has any information about this incident is asked to call West Jordan Police dispatch at 801-840-4026.
