SALT LAKE CITY, Utah, May 8, 2019 (Gephardt Daily) — A $100,000 arrest warrant has been issued for a Salt Lake City man who allegedly caused “permanent disfigurement” to his teenage sister by beating her with a cord.

Yassine Adam Ibrahim, 22, has been charged in the Third District Court with child abuse, a second-degree felony.

On March 26, a 16-year-old girl was watching TV on a couch with her younger brother and sister when her older brother, Yassine Ibrahim, “came in and started hitting her with a long cord used for the DVD,” charging documents said.

The cord was folded twice in a loop like a jump rope, the charges state.

The victim told officials she moved to get away from Ibrahim, but he followed her, hitting her in the leg, arms and back.

“The victim has marks all over her body and some of them bled,” according to the charges.

Neighbors called police, charging documents said.

The victim was subsequently examined by a doctor, who determined “she would suffer permanent disfigurement from the injuries and that the injuries were consistent with inflicted trauma,” the charges state.

A $100,000 warrant has been issued for Ibrahim’s arrest.

Gephardt Daily will have more on this developing story as information is made available.
