Police investigating Salt Lake City auto-motorcycle collision that leaves one severely injured

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah, Aug. 25, 2016 (Gephardt Daily) — Police are investigating after an auto-motorcycle collision in Salt Lake City Wednesday night left the rider with severe injuries.

The motorcyclist was westbound on 600 North approaching 800 West, at approximately 11:55 p.m. when a silver sedan ran the northbound stop sign on 800 West, the Salt Lake City Police Department said in a news release.

The vehicles collided, and the motorcycle rider sustained severe injuries to his lower body. He was transported to an area hospital, and remains in critical condition Thursday.

The car’s driver was not injured, however a 23-year-old female passenger sustained facial injuries and was also transported to a local hospital. The investigation is ongoing.
