GARFIELD COUNTY/KANE COUNTY, Utah, Feb. 4, 2019 (Gephardt Daily) — Officials said Monday morning that all trails below the rim in Bryce Canyon National Park are closed temporarily because of avalanche danger.

“Unstable snow conditions and avalanche possibilities resulting from this weekend’s continuing winter storm have required the temporary closure of all trails leading below the rim,” said a tweet from Bryce Canyon National Park officials.

The park is continuing to monitor the situation, and will post updates as they are available, the tweet said.

A previous tweet from park officials stated: “Keep an eye on the forecast if you’re planning to visit, and stay current on road and trail statuses within the park by visiting the alerts section of our website at here.”

Bryce Canyon National Park is southeast of Panguitch in southern Utah.
