Update: Baby Lily is Home, Drugs Found In Car

SPANISH FORK, Utah, March 12 (UPI) – Baby Lily went home with her father Wednesday as confirmed by Primary Children’s Hospital.

There however are new questions about the crash when police revealed that drugs were found in a purse inside the vehicle.

According to police, they found a small amount of what appears to be marijuana, an unmarked bottle containing several pills of Tramadol and an unopened package containing an unused syringe in the purse.

SPANISH FORK, Utah, March 8 (UPI) — An 18-month-old girl was rescued on Saturday after spending more than 12 hours inside an overturned car stuck in the frigid temperatures of the Spanish Fork River in Utah.

The baby was found injured in a car seat and and taken to a nearby hospital where she was initially in critical condition. Her mother, a 25-year-old woman, was found dead at the driver’s seat.

A fisherman first discovered the car.

“It was upside down when police officers arrived and located the infant,” Lt. Matt Johnson of the Spanish Fork Police Department said. “They tipped the car on its side and were able to get the infant out.”

Police said the car may have struck an embankment at the end of the bridge and then went into the river.

Seven rescue officials were taken to a hospital to be treated for hypothermia.

There has been a gofundme account set up for Jennifer Groesbeck funeral costs and her baby Lily’s medical expenses for anyone wishing to donate.
