SALT LAKE CITY, Utah, March 25, 2018 (Gephardt Daily) — A woman is dead and two more people are in critical condition after a rollover crash on Bangerter Highway at California Avenue Sunday morning.

The incident took place just before noon at the intersection of Bangerter Highway and California Avenue (1300 South) in the westbound lanes, according to a tweet from the Utah Department of Transportation.

A news release from the Utah Highway Patol says it appears Utah Department of Natural Resources officers “may have been involved in some capacity but are uninjured.”

The Utah Highway Patrol major accident investigation team is processing the scene, the news release says. Officials have not yet said how many vehicles were involved or what the sequence of events was that led up to the crash.

The State Bureau of Investigation has also been called to the scene, as has the Medical Examiner’s Office.

Troopers and investigators are working through the scene and more information will be posted as soon as it becomes available, UHP says.

The right lane on the westbound side of California Avenue was closed at the intersection, but has since reopened.

The deceased woman has not yet been identified.

Gephardt Daily will have more on this developing story as information is released.
