BIG COTTONWOOD CANYON, Utah, Aug. 27, 2017 (Gephardt Daily) — A driver spent six hours in his vehicle after breaking his collarbone in a rollover crash in Big Cottonwood Canyon overnight, police said.

Unified Police Department Lt. Brian Lohrke said the 34-year-old driver told officials he swerved to miss an animal before the crash, which occurred at about midnight  near the Laurel Pines area.

The man eventually climbed from his vehicle and was able to flag down a police officer who was passing by Sunday morning.

A medical helicopter was dispatched to the scene and the man was transported to the hospital in good condition.
