Man Commits Alleged Riverdale Parkway Trail Murder On His Birthday

RIVERDALE, UTAH – September 14, 2105 (Gephardt Daily) – The victim of an alleged murder on the Riverdale Parkway Trail over the weekend has been identified, officials said.

The victim, 25-year-old Horacio Mendez-Sanchez, died from a gunshot wound. In an added twist, it was revealed that the alleged murder was committed on the suspect’s birthday.

Riverdale police officers were dispatched to a report of a body that was found on the trail in the area of 4350 South on Sunday at 5 a.m.

The Weber Morgan Homicide Task Force was activated and assisted Riverdale Police in investigating leads that developed in this case. Several people were taken in for questioning.

Due to information obtained in interviews and evidence recovered, Luciano Silva, a Riverdale resident, 20, was arrested for murder and two counts of obstruction of justice. Silva was booked into the Weber County Jail.
