Body of woman, 26, found near South Jordan park; police call death suspicious

SOUTH JORDAN, Utah, Dec. 18, 2018 (Gephardt Daily) — Officials are investigating after a woman’s body was found Tuesday morning near a park in South Jordan.

South Jordan Police spokesman Sgt. Sam Winkler told Gephardt Daily a 26-year-old female was found deceased near a vehicle in the area of 6000 W. Lake Ave., and the death appears to be suspicious. No information about the cause of death has been released.

Winkler said officials have a preliminary identification on the woman but that her name will not be made public until the her family has been notified.

He said a city worker was doing some inspection work in the area, and found the woman near the vehicle just after 8 a.m.

Winkler said investigators are currently scanning and diagramming the scene.
