MURRAY, Utah, Oct. 19, 2017 (Gephardt Daily) — A bomb scare sparked an investigation on Thursday afternoon in a Murray neighborhood.
Sgt. Jason Coons, Murray Police Department, told Gephardt Daily that the call came in at about 4 p.m. when a Rocky Mountain Power employee notified police about a suspicious bag seen outside the building, near 60th South and 13th East.
“They were concerned with the look of the item, so they called us out to take a look at it,” Coons said.”We discovered it was a concealed item, so it did raise a little concern.
“We had a proper bomb squad come out to look at it, and it was determined not to be an explosive device. It was collected and disposed of.”
People who have left their residences are clear to come home, Coons said.
