Bothwell man, 51, dead after ATV rollover in Box Elder County

DOVE CREEK, Utah, Oct. 22, 2024 (Gephardt Daily) — A man from Bothwell died Monday afternoon after his ATV 3-wheeler rolled over in Dove Creek, in northwestern Box Elder County.

The Box Elder County Sheriff‘s Office has identified the victim as Eric Edwards, 51.

“At approximately 2:20 pm, hunters observed a cloud of dust in the area and ultimately discovered an overturned ATV and the deceased driver. The Box Elder County Sheriff’s Office, the Utah Highway Patrol, and Park Valley EMS responded to the scene,” a news release from the Box Elder County Sheriff says.

“A thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding the accident is being conducted.”

The department offered condolences to the family of Edwards.

“The loss of a loved one always brings profound grief, and we extend our deepest condolences to all the family, friends, and community members affected by this tragic event.

The statement, issued by Chief Deputy Sheriff Cade Palmer, also asked ATV riders to be careful.

“We urge everyone to exercise caution and prioritize safety when operating recreational vehicles.”
