Bountiful 4-year-old dies after auto-camper collision

BOUNTIFUL, Utah, Sept. 16, 2019 (Gephardt Daily) — A Bountiful 4-year-old died Sunday when a car hit a parked camping trailer.

The accident happened at about 3:15 p.m. Sunday at 397 W. Davis Blvd., Lt. Dave Edwards told Gephardt Daily.

The driver of the vehicle, which hit the back of the camper, was suspected to be traveling at higher than posted speeds, Edwards said.

“As a result of the collision, a 4-year-old was found in critical condition at the scene,” Edwards said.

The child was transported to Primary Children’s Hospital, but did not survive the injuries.

The vehicle’s driver was also transported to the hospital with serious injuries. She was taken to University Hospital. Her injuries were not life-threatening, Edwards said.

The accident is still under investigation.
