MURRAY, Nov. 18, 2016 (Gephardt Daily) — Interstate 15 northbound is blocked from about 4900 South because of an auto-pedestrian accident that happened at about 6:30 a.m. Friday.

A woman who was walking on I-15 was struck by two vehicles. She was taken to a nearby hospital in very critical condition.

“We had a female run into traffic,” said Sgt. Todd Royce, Utah Highway Patrol spokesman. “She is in her late 20s to early 30s, we are estimating. She was struck by a small pickup truck, in a glancing blow, then a Mercedes car hit her pretty hard.

“She’s in very critical condition, and we are still trying to figure out why she was in the area, in the immediate vicinity. We are looking into why she was there and why she ran into traffic.”

Gephardt Daily will update this developing story as information becomes available.
