WEST VALLEY CITY, Utah, July 20, 2020 (Gephardt Daily) — Police are looking for the driver of a white passenger car that fatally struck a man Sunday evening on Market Street.

West Valley City Police Lt. Shane Matheson said the incident occurred just before 7 p.m. at 3661 S. Market St.

“An adult male was on a bicycle when he was hit by the vehicle,” Matheson told Gephardt Daily. “The vehicle continued for a way, then turned around, came back and hit the man again.”

Police are calling it a case of vehicular homicide because the suspect’s actions appeared to be deliberate in causing the man’s death.

Matheson said officials don’t know yet if an argument or physical altercation preceded the incident.

The suspect’s vehicle is believed to be a white Nissan Altima, possibly model year 2016, with front-end damage. The Utah license plate number is F21 3GY.

Anyone who has any information regarding the incident, the driver or the vehicle is asked to call West Valley City Police dispatch at 801-840-4000.
