Businesses evacuated after large gas leak in Sandy

SANDY, Utah, June 13, 2018 (Gephardt Daily) — Businesses have been evacuated after what officials are calling a large gas leak in Sandy Wednesday afternoon.

The gas leak resulted in the evacuation of businesses in the area of 9800 S. 700 East at approximately 1:45 p.m. Wednesday, the Sandy City Fire Department said in a tweet.

Dominion Energy is on scene working to fix the leak.

Drivers are being urged to avoid the area.

Officials have not yet said what caused the gas leak.
