PROVO, Utah, Dec. 10, 2015 (Gephardt Daily) —  BYU offensive coordinator Robert Anae announced Friday he is going with Bronco Mendenhall to the University of Virginia and taking three of his assistants with him.

As first reported by Deseret News , Robert Anae announced on Wednesday to the players that he would be leaving BYU as well as Garett Tujague (offensive line), Mark Atuaia (running backs) and Jason Beck (quarterbacks).

The announcement comes just a week after BYU head coach Bronco Mendenhall announced he had accepted an offer to become the head coach at the University of Virginia.

Anae has been with BYU on and off since the early 90’s. His latest return was in 2013.

Mendenhall, Virginia’s 40th head football coach, has compiled an overall record of 99-42 in his 11 seasons as head coach at BYU to rank 12th in total wins among all FBS teams during that time.

BYU is slated to play Utah in the Las Vegas Bowl on Dec. 19, 2015. This will be both Mendehall’s and Anae’s last game with the Cougars.
