CACHE COUNTY, Utah, June 22, 2019 (Gephardt Daily) — Cache County officials have released the name of the driver booked on DUI after driving her car into the Hyrum Reservoir on the west side of Hyrum Dam.

“The driver in last night’s crash is identified as 22-year-old Laycee Dillon,” a statement from the sheriff’s office says.

“She was released from Logan Regional Hospital and booked for DUI into the Cache County Jail.”

According to a news release from Cache County Sheriff D. Chad Jensen, shortly before 7:30 p.m., Dillon was driving east and failed to negotiate the bend in the road around the dam. Her vehicle left the road and crashed into the reservoir.

Dillon was able to get out of the vehicle and was transported to Logan Regional Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

“We extend our appreciation to our citizen who witnessed this crash and rendered assistance,” Jensen said in the news release.
