Driving less and driving smarter may be a challenge but starting July 1 residents can take the challenge to reduce vehicle emissions by choosing alternative methods of transportation.
TravelWise strategies are there to help residents drive less and drive smarter and help improve air quality, reduce traffic congestion and conserve energy in Utah.
The challenge offers weekly and grand prize drawings by meeting achievable travel goals.
Cleartheairchallenge.org says transportation emissions are responsible for 50 percent of ground level ozone and by reducing vehicle trips it can help protect health, environment and quality of life.
Summer’s hot air allows vehicle emissions to build up and increases poor air quality risking people’s health.
