SOUTH JORDAN, Utah, July 21, 2019 (Gephardt Daily) — Due to a leak in the Welby Jacob Canal, some of South Jordan’s secondary water service is likely to be shut down until Wednesday, officials said.

A tweet from South Jordan City on July 19 said secondary water service will be shut off until further notice. “Updates will be posted as they become available,” the tweet said.

Secondary water is untreated, unfiltered water that is used for the irrigation of outdoor residential landscaping and gardening.

An update Sunday afternoon said: “The City spoke to the canal company and they are expecting to be back in service Wednesday, July 24. We will continue to post updates as they become available.”
