COTTONWOOD HEIGHTS, UTAH – September 13, 2015 (Gephardt Daily) – A Cottonwood Heights man escaped serious injury late Sunday afternoon when an out of control SUV slammed through the wall of his house and tossed him across the room while he was lying on his couch.
According to Cottonwood Heights Police Sgt. Scott Ricks, a couple in their 60’s were traveling southbound on 2300 East around 6 p.m. when the husband suffered a medical emergency causing him to lose control of his SUV.
The vehicle left the roadway and crashed through the wall of the home at 2312 Bengal Blvd near 7200 South.
Neither the man inside the house, nor the couple in the SUV were seriously injured, although all three were transported to an area hospital.
Police say it was a matter of pure luck that no one was killed or seriously injured. They say had the man inside the house been sitting upright on the couch, he would likely have sustained life threatening injuries.
