$5,000 Reward Offered For Information About Sunset Cat Found With Arrow Through Head

SUNSET, Utah, May 18, 2016 (Gephardt Daily) — A reward is being offered for information leading to the capture of the person or people responsible for an arrow found shot through the head of a cat last month in Davis County.

A press release issued by Davis County Animal Care and Control said, it was notified on Wednesday, April 27 of a cat in the area of 1500 North and 100 West in Sunset, with an arrow stuck through its head.

Officials said the arrow was sticking out in such a way that it made it hard to capture the animal with traditional traps. Officers had been searching for him for a couple weeks when the animal was spotted. As the cat ran under a shed, the arrow fell out allowing the officer to set up live cat traps and capture him.

The cat was taken to Fairfield Veterinary Hospital where the wounds were cared for and cleaned before being taken to the Davis County Animal Shelter. He is expected to make a full recovery.

The Humane Society of the United States has offered a $5,000 reward for anyone who can provide information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the suspect.

If anyone has information about the incident or the suspects, please call Davis County Animal Shelter at 801-444-2200.
